During a recent trip to Europe (including attending my first Biofach in Germany - wow!), I had a chance to meet with dozens of ROC™ brands and regenerative organic farmers from across the continent as well as ROC™ pioneers from India, Turkey, Japan, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas. As reflected in the now 65,000 Regenerative Organic Certified® farms across 46 countries, our movement is truly global and growing…
This month, we’re welcoming several new Regenerative Organic Certified® brands and farms; each one demonstrating what it looks like to lead with integrity and land stewardship.
We’re also sharing a Valentine’s Day love letter to the soil, a reminder of the living foundation that connects every story in this newsletter. From Wild Oats’ relaunch as a regenerative organic–driven CPG brand, to powerful features spotlighting leaders in regenerative wine and the rigorous journey of partners like Lundberg Family Farms, this issue highlights the real work and real impact happening from field to shelf.
And now we’re gearing up for Expo West where there will be over 100 ROC™ brands amplifying our collective impact. Our Together We ROC™ event at the Ecology Center also marks my one-year anniversary at ROA and I could not be more inspired by the passion and commitment of our amazing team and community.
Thank you for being part of this powerful movement. Together, we’re proving that regeneration isn’t just a practice, it’s a commitment to healthier soils, stronger communities, and a more resilient future for all.

A Love Letter to the Soil
Dear Soil,
You are where everything begins.
Beneath our feet, you quietly hold the stories of generations, of farmers and ranchers who care for you, of roots that reach deep for nourishment, of microbes and organisms working in harmony to create life. You are the foundation of our food, our climate, our communities, and our future.
When you are cared for, you give generously. You hold water in times of drought, store carbon from the sky, nurture biodiversity, and grow food that sustains people and planet alike. You remind us that true abundance comes not from extraction, but from relationship.
At the Regenerative Organic Alliance, our commitment to you is rooted in love and responsibility. Through regenerative organic agriculture, we work to protect your health, restore your vitality, and honor the people who steward you with intention and care. This work is about more than farming, it’s about trust, reciprocity, and hope.
This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate you, the living soil beneath every harvest, every meal, every shared table. We celebrate the farmers, brands, and communities who choose regeneration, knowing that when we care for the soil, the soil cares for us in return.
With admiration, The Regenerative Organic Alliance

Welcoming Wild Oats as a ROA Ally
After nearly four decades as a pioneer in natural and organic food, Wild Oats has relaunched as a modern consumer packaged goods brand rooted in regenerative organic agriculture, transparency, and responsibility across the supply chain. Their return signals more than a brand revival, it represents a renewed movement toward real food production that prioritizes soil health, animal welfare, and the people behind our food.
We’re proud to celebrate Wild Oats as both a ROC™ brand and a new Ally of the Regenerative Organic Alliance. Through their ROC™ products, including the first-ever Regenerative Organic Certified® cold-pressed juices and smoothies, as well as ROC™ pasture-raised eggs, Wild Oats is demonstrating what it looks like to put regenerative organic principles into practice at scale.
Becoming an ROA Ally reflects Wild Oats’ deeper commitment to advancing regenerative organic agriculture beyond their own products. As an Ally, Wild Oats is supporting ROA’s mission to grow healthy soils, promote animal welfare, and ensure fairness and opportunity for farmers, ranchers, and workers, helping drive systemic change across food and fiber supply chains.
Wild Oats’ leadership shows that regeneration isn’t just a farming practice; it’s a values-driven approach that connects land, people, and nourishment. By investing in regenerative organic systems and joining a growing community of mission-aligned Allies, Wild Oats is helping shape a more resilient, transparent, and equitable food future.
We’re excited to welcome Wild Oats into the ROA Allies community and to celebrate their role in advancing regenerative organic integrity, from the soil to the shelf, and everywhere in between.
Featured Read: California at the Forefront of Regenerative Organic Wine
We’re excited to share a recent feature from Vintner Project spotlighting the powerful momentum behind regenerative organic agriculture in California’s wine industry.
In the article, author Brianne Cohen explores how California has emerged as a global leader in regenerative organic wine, now home to roughly half of the world’s Regenerative Organic Certified® wine brands. The piece highlights how regenerative organic practices go beyond sustainability, restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, strengthening water systems, and supporting farming communities for the long term.
This feature beautifully illustrates why regenerative organic agriculture is not just shaping the future of wine, but serving as a model for what’s possible across agriculture worldwide.
We’re grateful to the Vintner Project team for helping amplify the voices of growers and brands leading this important work, and for showcasing what regeneration looks like in action, from vineyard to glass.
A recent feature in AgFunderNews pulls back the curtain on what it actually takes to achieve Regenerative Organic Certified®, even for farms that have been stewarding the land responsibly for generations. The article spotlights ROA partner and ROC™ farm Lundberg Family Farms, a family-owned operation that has practiced organic and regenerative farming for nearly a century.
Lundberg’s journey underscores an important truth: regenerative intent alone isn’t enough. Even deeply experienced producers must engage in a rigorous, transparent certification process that verifies practices across all three pillars of ROC™; soil health, animal welfare, and social fairness. For Lundberg, this meant taking a closer look at how their long-standing practices were documented, measured, and independently verified.
The certification process challenged the team to formalize what they were already doing well, while also identifying opportunities to strengthen outcomes. From refining cover-cropping strategies to ensure soil stays protected longer, to expanding biodiversity monitoring and wildlife reporting, the ROC™ framework helped bring greater clarity and consistency to their regenerative efforts. Just as importantly, the process included in-depth audits focused on people, from worker interviews to wage and labor standards, reinforcing that social fairness is foundational to regenerative organic agriculture.
Rather than viewing certification as a hurdle, Lundberg describes ROC™ as a tool that sharpened their operations and strengthened their ability to communicate impact. With verified regenerative organic practices now backed by the ROC™ seal, the farm is better equipped to build trust with consumers and expand access to regeneratively grown products.
This story is a powerful reminder that ROC™ is more than a label. Through the commitment of partners like Lundberg Family Farms, ROC™ continues to set a high bar for integrity, transparency, and real-world impact, proving that even century-old farming traditions can evolve to meet the future of food.
